Iftar – Jodhpur, Dubai

Just a week left for Eid 2017 and we got to try one of the best Iftars before Ramadan ends. Our last visit to Jodhpur was also in Ramadan 2016 and we named it one of the Best Iftars back then too! Jodhpur is offering an 8-course meal for only AED 199 / person which is totally worth it!

PRE-STARTER

Textured Dates – Stuffed dates with Rice Crisps, dark chocolate & coated with coconut milk Powder & feuilletine. The fanciest dates you can get in town!

AMUSE-BOUCHE

The infamous Macaron chat – a signature of Jodhpur and Chef Pradeep. Macaron stuffed with tangy filling & served as chaat with all the elements like sweet, sour, crunchy, chewy.

STARTERS

Tempura prawns fried till crisp & tossed in onion chilies masala with curry leaves. Served with beetroot & wasabi. You will crave for more!

Kofta Meat Ball – Pulled beef spheres wrapped in kataifi & flash fried till crunchy drizzled with strawberry & green chilies chutney. The meat will just melt in your mouth.

We got a Spicy Mango juice and a Paan Mojito. The Paan was the favorite as it tasted exactly like one. The Spicy Mango was amazing too!

Haleem with Various topping – It was exceptionally good. We usually have it only at home but this Haleem made us a fan. It was topped up with assorted toppings like onions, potato wool, coriander roots, lemon juice & browned onions.

Hummus Sphere coated with orange juice jelly as a doppelganger to mandarin orange served with toasted bread slice. A very creative and innovative dish!

We got more drinks which came with a beautiful presentation. It was a mix of berries and beetroot.

PALATE CLEANSER

Sorbet to clean your palate so that you get ready for the main course, made with fresh mango puree spiked with kaffir lime leaves & dehydrated cranberries. I remember having it last year too!

MAIN COURSE

Pinwheel made from cottage cheese stuffed with basil & coriander mixture served with a sauce made with bottle gourd, cashews & green cardamom. The gravy was heavy yet enjoyable.

Deconstructed Butter Chicken – Chicken tikka sphere stuffed with a generous dollop of butter, crumble, & flash fried for the crunch. Served with classic makhani sauce. One of my favorites!

Lamb dices cooked in onion tomatoes masala with coconut as the base & garnished with crisp dosa cones. The meat was tender and the whole dish was very flavorful.

For the sides, you also get a Chicken Biryani with Burhani raita and some amazing faux daal with kulcha and naan.

DESSERTS

DSC_0303.JPG

Mango duo, in form of cheesecake & kulfi, topped up with freshly chopped Alphonso garnished with sesame glass sheet made with liquid glucose. It was simply outstanding. The kulfi and the cheesecake both left us wanting more!

Caramelized Banana barrel served over sticky pudding with cinnamon Ice cream. Enjoyed this dessert even though we’d take the mango over it anytime.

Overall, it was a great experience. Jodhpur is one of the best Indian Fine dine restaurants in UAE and the Jodhpur essence is all over the Iftar. Chef Pradeep will not disappoint you! If you still haven’t tried then it’s a must. Highly recommended!!
