Patiala House is a small cozy joint in the streets of Karama serving Punjabi cuisine. The interiors are very ‘Dhaba’ style with Punjabi posters and some traditional art. We were there for dinner after a long day.
For the drinks, we got chaas also known as buttermilk. It was very authentic!
From their live chaat counter, we got a plate of Pani Puri. It was fresh and tasty.
Starters
We got a veg platter of Paneer achari tikka and Hara bhara kabab. The veg kebabs were really good!
The Non-Veg starter, we got the chicken with green marination. It wasn’t bad!
Amritsari Fish Tikka – Very nicely marinated. We enjoyed the fish tikkas.
Main course
Chicken Tikka Masala – Liked the masala and the butter on top. The chicken probably needs to be better quality.
Daal Tadka – Presented in a balti. Loved it with the garlic naan.
Nan – We got a mix bread basket and the garlic naans were amazing.
Mutton Chop Masala – A treat for chop lovers.
Desserts
Gulab Jamun – These were excellent. Not the usual over the top sweet.
Kulfi – Very fresh and creamy!
Overall, a nice cozy place to enjoy authentic Punjabi food. You can also take away if you don’t like to sit in at the small joint. We enjoyed the vegetarian dishes more than non-veg! The service was good and we had a nice time!
Wow. Will visit Patiala House soon.
