During a busy weekday, we stopped at Kabul Darbar located in Bur Dubai for a quick lunch. We chose to sit upstairs which was a family area. They also had paved sitting area to dine in a traditional afghani way but we sat at a table.
For starters, the restaurant serves Salad and Afghan soup which was made of lentils and pretty tasty. If I remember correctly, it was complimentary.
For the main course, I got myself Afghani Pulao with chicken and Dubaigirl got herself a Chopan Kabab. It had huge chunks of grilled meat. Both the dishes came with extra red sauce and dal. We also got some yogurt.
The main dishes are good in quantity and more than enough for 1 person. The pulao rice had fewer shredded carrots and raisins compared to other Afghani food I had experienced. The service and pricing were decent. If I am in the area and in a mood for Afghani, I wouldn’t mind coming back!
