L’OCCITANE PIVOINE SUBLIME

L’Occitane had recently launched a collection of skincare, body and lip products in a Pevoine Collection called Pivoine Sublime. I was able to get a preview of the entire line at an event two months ago and am so impressed with the way the creams, serums and mists hydrate the skin in a gentle way. I received the L’Occitane CC cream 30 ml in Claire-Light along with the tinted lip balm in Rose nude color as gifts.

L’occitane Pivoine Sublime: Tinted Lip Balm

The Rose nude tinted lip balm is a brighter pink but gives the lips a soft pink tint. It feels very smooth and hydrating on application. The packaging is commendable. It comes in a lipstick like metal tube with a secure cap that twists off at the base. The pigmentation is excellent. It gives the lips a natural healthy sheen finish that looks very subtle. It makes the lips glow without looking shiny. It has a firmer and smoother texture with a weightless feel. It has an excellent staying power.

L’Occitane claims that this tinted lip balm provides 8 hours of hydration to the lips. Although I haven’t personally left it on for a full eight hours untouched to see if the moisture remains. I usually wipe off lip products before eating or drinking and re-apply frequently. I did find the moisturizing feel lasted longer than other lip balms.

I had never used any fragrance or body products with peony smell before, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. But I instantly fell in love with the smell of peonies due to this lip balm. It is more of a sweet candied scent which I find absolutely divine.

My Verdict

If you’re looking for a nice lip tint, then the L’Occitane tinted lip balm in Rose nude is definitely worth buying. It hydrates the lips and makes them feel petal-soft smooth. I also like that the texture of this lip balm is smooth and non-sticky. I even used it as cheek tint once and it looked so dewy. Bottom line is that this product is a winner in my lip balm book.

Unlike other CC creams, this one is white in color but on application it turns nude and blends in your skin, adapting to your natural skin tone. But it doesn’t give a lot of coverage or hide acne and blemishes. It does even out the skin tone in a subtle way.  I love the fact that it has SPF 20 so I use it as a sunscreen.

Since L’Occitane is a French brand designed primarily for the French women, who have the best skin in the world and don’t need a lot of coverage. Hence this CC cream is perfect for them and all those who are blessed with a clear skin and just need a little glow on their face and they are good to go.

The Skin Tone Perfecting CC Cream can be used in several ways, on its own, over your normal morning moisturizer, or as an illuminating primer under your foundation. I tried using it in all the suggested ways, but my favourite method is to use it as an illuminating primer under my CC Cream or foundation. I usually mix it with my CC cream and then blend it with my beauty blender. Gives a great result on my skin. It applies easily and blends well and gives a very natural, long lasting result. Not much is needed for each application.

The product has the distinct Peony fragrance which is a delight and is Paraben free. It has a needle point nozzle which gives you easy control over the amount of cream you want to dispense, which I love.
 
My Verdict

This is light on the skin but has a beautiful glow. Just what every girl needs in the morning for a quick ‘make-up and go’ look. It is undoubtedly an excellent product to make your skin look glowy. My only gripe is that it is very pricey compared to other CC creams and the fact that it doesn’t give much coverage.
