Review: BenQ GV1 Portable Projector

Review: Benq GV1 Portable Projector

Being a 90’s kid, I have always seen Projectors being bulky with a lot of wires and cables whether it was for watching movies or presentations. Fast forward to 2019, Benq has released a Palm-sized portable projector with built-in speakers which is easy to use and carry. It comes with a carry case, a remote and a charger.

BenQ GV1 is a portable compact size projector for immersive projection. It has multi-function of audio & video that allows you to use the projector anywhere and anytime.

Set up

The Benq GV1 Portable Projector connects with all the devices pretty easily. I set up mine on Android with Google Home and had access via phone and laptop. You can update the software and get the Aptoide app for TV where you can download apps and play Netflix/Youtube directly.

Hardware

The size of the device is literally palm size. I thought the design of GV1 was very stylish compared to the other devices with similar features. It definitely has an edge over others as it also tilts 15 degrees to heighten the screen. The adjustable lens does all the work.

Features

The screen can be as big as 100″ wide which is perfect for homes. Since it’s portable I could take it to every room without hassle. Perfect for watching sports or a movie night. It can be used for family gatherings or even a solo work out with your YouTube trainer. The built-in speakers are very convenient as well.

Sound & Battery

The portable Bluetooth Speaker mode is with built-in 5-Watt chambered audio. The surround sound is a bonus and good enough for a big hall. The battery life is about 3 hours which is good enough to watch a couple of movies or even a football match.

I can mirror my phone into the projector as well. Not only I’ve used it to share my travel pictures in a family gathering but also gaming. It’s been a couple of weeks and I’ve been hooked on Youtube and binge-watching  Netflix series. I would highly recommend the BENQ GV1 for home usage for the convenience and big screen enthusiasts. Sports lovers also must have this device!
