Walking into Babel, I thought I was going to have Iraqi food but instead found out it’s a Lebanese restaurant and terms themselves as Progressive Lebanese cuisine. The interiors are modern and classy. There’s a huge display of seafood on ice at the ground floor.
We got some soup and starters like hummus, tabbouleh, and shrimp beiroutieh. All the items were excellent quality and the shrimp beiroutieh stood out the most! From the hot mezzes, the spinach fatayer was great but the kibbeh and samboosak weren’t.
For the main course, we selected a fish to be grilled and spicy. It was perfect and they deboned it for us too. We also got chicken grilled breast which was tender and flavorful.
For the desserts, we had a platter of assorted Jam which was a first and pretty odd. There was a mix of date, fig, pumpkin and bitter orange. We also had a platter of fruits which were uncut for some reason!
The service was great. Babel is more of a fine dining restaurant and serves shisha too. There’s a lot of outdoor seating area as well which would be great in winters! If you’re looking for some Lebanese food then Babel is a good choice.
