Review: Fujifilm X-T100

Fujifilm has launched a new mirrorless camera model in the X Series in Dubai and the UAE with the Model X-T100. The Japanese masterpiece has a classic retro look and a stylish body.  It’s a 24.2-megapixel APS-C sensor with a high-speed imaging processor and a digital zoom. It’s available in 3 colors and I had to get my hands on the new and unique Champagne Gold.

After testing it for more than 3 weeks in various environments, here are some of the impressive features:

The 91-point Phase Detection Auto-focus system in the camera uses the same algorithm originally designed for the high-end flagship X Series models. I particularly love the screen which has a three-way tilt mechanism and makes it easier to use as a Food Blogger with the flat lays.

For selfie lovers, the screen flips out towards the front as well. You can further tilt it anyway to get the angle you want. If looking to record videos, X-T100 offers 4K UHD video recording, but with a maximum frame rate of 15 frames per second. Full HD video, fortunately, can be recorded at up to 60 fps

An intelligent feature XT100 is the SR+ Mode that detects both the subject and scene at the same time, selecting the best settings for capturing the best shot. The X-T100 also includes an electronic viewfinder which is very handy.

Film Simulations will be familiar to Fujifilm shooters; there are the regular 11 types you’ve come to expect: Provia, Velvia, Astia, Classic Chrome, Pro Neg Hi, Pro Neg Std, Monochrome, and Sepia.

As for negatives, the motor zoom can get a bit annoying till you are used to the sense. Other than that, the touch screen might lag a little but I am used to the buttons and X-T100 has a lot of them so doesn’t bother much.

In connectivity, the X-T100 includes built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, which allows you to remotely control the camera and transfer images to your phone or print to an Instax printer.

Overall, X-T100 is impressive and I think I am ready to retire my heavy DSLR and continue shooting with Fujifilm. As a blogger and an amateur photographer on the move, it’s a perfect device. Big thanks to the wonderful people at Fujifilm Middle East for the product.

If you looking to buy one, use the promo code ⭐BCTQT0004⭐ to receive a free photography related gift when purchased at Grand Stores across UAE before the 31st of July.
