We lost the count of how many times we dined at La Mer but this time our cuisine was Turkish and the destination was Kaftan! We went to La Mer for lunch and some relaxing time at the beach.
For the drinks, we got Atom – a mix of Orange, Pomegranate and touch of lemon. It came in huge jars but strangely filled less than half and the glasses were all messy!
A disappointing start quickly turned around with the hot mezze platter which had an excellent collection and everything tasted great on it! Spring rolls, hummus, Sujuk, Kibbeh and some fried octopus and calamari were our starters.
The Main course was Adana Kebab and a Mix Grill. They both came with a side of Burgul. The meat was tender and on the spicier side. Enjoyed the variety on the mixed grill.
We also ordered Burger with chips from the kids menu. Surprisingly the portions were huge! They did like and enjoy the burgers.
For the desserts, we ordered Kunafe. It came with a side of Turkish ice cream and lots of pistachios. It was a perfect golden crisp brown on the outside and soft cheesy inside. Highly recommended!
The other dessert had to be Baklava. They inserted Turkish ice cream in the center and it was heaven.
Kaftan should be your destination for Turkish cuisine La Mer. The staff was friendly and really good with the kids (they didn’t know we were bloggers). We had a great lunch and a good time at the beach! Looking forward to being back.
