Zafran is an Indian casual dining restaurant located in Mirdiff City Center that serves flavors catering to Arabs and tourists. We checked out the place for dinner and it was quite packed. The interiors are modern and comfortable. There are booths and table in a large space with an open kitchen showcasing the tandoor.
We got some complimentary chutneys and poppadums. The sauces are quite unique and all made in-house. The watermelon skin being the most surprising.
We got Rawa Fish and Aloo Tikki for starters. The Tikki was a little bland for our taste but the Rawa fish was great. It’s a new addition to the menu and I would recommend it.
The Zafran Grill is a must order as well. It’s a huge platter which can easily be shared by 3-4 people. The lamb had great flavors. The mustard fish and Ajwaini Prawns were excellent.
For the main course, we got chicken dhaba and kairi keema. We also got some vegetarian dishes to try like homestyle Okra, Veg Kofta, and Eggplant curry. I enjoyed the Kofta the most out of all!
There’s plenty of bread to choose from but the Garlic naan was the best. The Biryani wasn’t up to the mark even though I ordered it spicy, it was still bland.
For the desserts, Mango Kulfi is a must try. It looks like a cheesecake but is a layer of mango kulfi and a regular one. Definitely a memorable one! Gulab Jamun was rich as it’s made of cottage cheese. The service was excellent and the server knew every dish in and out which was impressive. If you’re craving Indian food in Mirdiff, this is the place!
