Latest to open on La Mer South is Masti which in Hindi means ‘to have fun’. The interiors are stunning and give vibes of an upscale joint. It is a licensed restaurant and kind of a lounge. The cuisine is not Indian but a fusion with Indian flavors. We sat upstairs in the outdoor area for dinner.
For the drinks. I did not much enjoy my mocktail and felt it was watered down by the ice.
We ordered Burrata and Ceviche from the cold plates. The ceviche was excellent as it had banana chips on it and the citrus was unusually flavorful. The burrata was surrounded by a tomato jam.
From the small plates, we got some Chicken Tikka Bao which was excellent. The other favorite was the Butter chicken Pizza.
Gunpowder scallops had a nice lemongrass sauce to go with it while the Sundried prawns came with a swiss lentil chaat.
We also had some side dishes like Masti Fries and Smashes roast potatoes. I preferred the roast potatoes!
Mango cheesecake for desserts is a must try and the chocolate delice is small in portion but rich in flavors. Rock candy in the chocolate soil was a surprise!
Overall, the service was good and we had some really fun dishes. However, they served the dishes very quickly and all at once. The food was cold within 2 minutes! If you want to have ‘Masti’ it can be quite pricey. The presentations are beautiful so if you want to Instagram them, daytime would be best!
