A new spot in Sharjah serving authentic Afghani and Pakistani cuisine. Kabab bazar is located in the mini food hub spot of Sharjah opposite Raddison Blu. Plenty of free parking is a bonus.
The interiors are pretty and well done. There’s a traditional seating on the floor as well. The restaurant has a separate bachelor and a family section on the two corners of the same building.
Starters
The soup as a starter was very thick and almost jelly-like. Maybe they had a bad day with the corn flour. The Lahori fish, on the other hand, was extremely good. Fried and crisp, served with fries and coleslaw.
Beef Kababs were a little overdone but still tender. The chicken kebabs were my favorite out of the lot. It’s delicious with the nan and the chutney.
Main course
Afghani dum pukht palav came with a big chunk of meat. Absolutely loved the rice but the meat was very dry and inferior in quality. The traditional sauce with palav was missing which usually gives a whole lot flavor.
We also got some gravy – Chicken handi and Mutton Karahi. The chicken was the better choice and the garlic nan was fantastic.
Dessert
We ordered Falooda and Gulab jamun. Not sure if it’s made in-house but the Gulab jamun was perfection. If not for the kababs, I am definitely coming back for the jamuns.
Kabab Bazar is a good place to visit with friends and family and the prices are decent. I’d recommend the rice, chicken kebabs, and gulab jamun. Also going back for the nan! If you’re in Sharjah, do give it a go!
