Medley Restaurant, Dubai

Thursdays are Seafood night at Medley Restaurant located in the Pullman Deira City center. It’s priced at AED 220 per person but unfortunately, does not match the quality and the service.

We struggled to find a server to place an order for our drinks. There was no one dedicated to our dining area throughout the service and boy it was frustrating!

The interiors are modern and dim lit. The buffet is spread over the counters for the Seafood night. Salad, main course, sushi, dessert, and fish were some of the counters.

The salad station had plenty of options but nothing outstanding. Every salad was seafood.

The sushi tasted poor as it was dry and hard. There was also ceviche and it wasn’t cured well enough.

For the main course, seafood paella was huge along with some pasta calamari, roasted potatoes, and some more dishes. None of the dishes appealed to me. Fish sticks, fried calamari was too soggy and had the crunch missing.

The live fish counter lets you select your own fish and seafood from the display which is then grilled or fried as requested. We got a seabass and a lobster which came after a long wait. There were no spices or herbs used and came with a side of a butter sauce. I felt sad that most of it was wasted.

Dessert counter was untidy and a mess that mostly had tarts. The other mini desserts were stored in odd fridges. Once again everything was of low quality.

It was an utterly disappointing experience including the valet who took 20+ mins to get the car out. The service was very poor. No one would clean our tables and there was mostly no waiters around to assist. We couldn’t even get our drinks refilled till the end. Overall, the food quality was also substandard. Dine at your own risk!
