If you’re craving for Levantine Street Eatery then Zaroob has got you covered. They have branches all over Dubai and one in Majaz Waterfront, Sharjah! The interiors match the feel of urban streets. From the ceiling to the floor, it’s all done well!
We filled in our order on the self-ordering colorful pads. We got our special drinks – The Zaroobian and Fruity Juicy. I preferred the layered cocktail Fruity juicy as the Zaroobian was stuffed with mostly apples.
For starters, we got a Fattoush salad, hummus, and a falafel plate of 8 pcs. They were mini size and great with the tahini dip.
My absolute favorite was the Koshari – an Egyptian dish which had some spicy sauce and onions as condiments. The tomato sauce was perfect!
Beef Shawarma beef Arabic wrapped was huge and came with fries. It was kind of dry and could use some Arabic salad inside with tahini.
Fateer – Soujuk with cheese was crisp and quite tasty. It came on a wooden platter with a side of olives.
We also got some sandwiches like Turkey Saj which had nice pickles in it. Steak and Mushroom manoushe was juicy and had a lot of cheesy stuffing. The arayes was my least favorite as it was not crisp as we like it.
Desserts
Zaroob has launched some new desserts. We chose sticky date pudding and Jallab cheesecake! Both of them were excellent. Enjoyed the Levant twist to the cheesecake.
They also serve a nice variety of teas and we got ourselves a pot of Moroccan tea to end the meal. The service was good and the food rolled out quickly. The location is great as it has a corniche view which will look better in the day time for sure.
