Gunaydin, Dubai

After successfully running over-forty restaurants across Turkey, Turkey’s highly-established kebab restaurant and steakhouse Günaydın has finally opened its doors to meat lovers in the UAE. Located on the waterfront promenade, Günaydın enchants its guests with a spectacular view of the Dubai Fountain and Burj Khalifa, adding to Souk Al Bahar’s international selection of premium dining options.

Spread over 800 square meters, the restaurant can seat 124 diners in its stylish and contemporary indoors and ample seating capacity for guests to enjoy the Dubai Fountain shows at the terrace.

Starters

We started off with Turkish hummus, muhammara, Acili Ezme, and some juicy salad! The starters came with fresh Turkish bread which was excellent.

Lahmacun is a thin Turkish style pizza with mince meat on it. We got a large one which was sliced and served on our plates.

Doner was served on a platter but our dramatic server made doner sandwiches out of it and seasoned it perfectly with sea salt and sumac.

Main Course

Hands down the best Adana Kabab I’ve had! It was juicy, grilled perfectly, and had the perfect ratio of fat and meat. I’ve tried Adana Kabab all over Dubai and Turkey and this was the best one yet.

Moreover, our server turned some of the Adana Kabab into a sandwich stuffing it with onion, tomato, chili and then wrapped in bread. It was remarkable.

Gunaydin Special is a must try as well. The meat was cooked in melted butter and served with toasted bread. The only downside, it’s pricey!

Lamb chops were juicy and tender. I was too stuffed to try it but my friends loved it!

We also got to try some aged beef grill.  Chewy pieces of meat full of flavor.

From the grill, we got a rib eye steak that had ‘meat juices’ flowing out of it. The steak was rare and seasoned with sea salt. A treat for meat lovers.

Desserts

Turkish Baklava was a giant slice of baklava with pistachios which was open to spread some vanilla ice cream inside. Crispy and sweet…It’s a Must Try!

Katmer – pastry filled with pistachio and rolled with Vanilla ice cream. It was way less sweet than the Baklava but still a great choice!

Gunaydin will be a definite success in Dubai as they serve top quality meat along with great service. Don’t be surprised if the servers feed you with their own hands. I really enjoyed the food and wouldn’t think twice before recommending it. Gunaydin is a meat lovers paradise!
