A few days before Ramadan, we got to check out the Iftar preview at Movenpick JBR. Although the Iftar will be served at The Talk Restaurant, the preview was at the ballroom.
The room and tables were set up with some beautiful bowls of starters. Particularly admired the hummus.
We got our welcome drinks and check out the buffet which has a lot of variety, mainly Arabic food.
Starters
Lots to choose from – Kibbeh, fatayer, spring rolls, cold mezze and salad.
They also had some amazing mini shawarmas.
Main course
It included grilled meat, Salmon, and a lot of Arabic dishes. I enjoyed the Shrimp kabsa with the sauce. It’s a must try!
They also had two types of Oozi. One with wheat and other rice. The meat on it was tender and rice flavorful.
Desserts
The desserts were limited but good. Loved the baklava and the pudding.
Our server was friendly and kept reloading us with some amazing drinks and insisted we keep eating.
Overall, Our experience at the Iftar preview was good and it’s the only one I’ve tried at JBR so far. It’s worth a visit if you’re in the area!
