Espana Lounge, Dubai

Espana Lounge is the latest licensed restaurant in Garhoud to open its doors. It’s located on the mezzanine floor of  Jumeirah Creekside Hotel. We visited Espana Lounge for dinner and mocktails.

Interior

The interiors are absolutely stunning. Inspired by the great Spanish artists like Salvador Dali and Pablo Picasso. Every corner of Espana Lounge is worth stopping and admiring.

The restaurant has a huge panel of screens to give you different views and vibes. An upside down room for relaxing, a small outdoor seating area, a ladies-only bar and two DJ Booths. Not sure why 2 would be better?

Drinks

We got ourselves some mocktails and they were outstanding. The Monica Lewinsky was packed with raspberry and pineapple foam. The Andalusia Mule had ginger and turmeric syrup, lime and ginger ale.

Starters

Fried Mozzarella with gazpacho sauce was good. Their version had the mozzarella flattened than sticks. The sauce complimented the mozzarella really well.

Beef Bacon Potato Skins – Potato stuffed with mozzarella cheese and bacon bits. It was kind of greasy but delicious.

Montadito de Ternera – Beef tenderloins on spinach with baguette and topped with a Padron pepper. It was kind of mouthful but we enjoyed the different flavors in a bite.

Main course

Humburguesa New Yorkina was a classic beef burger with cheese and bacon. It looked delicious but as soon as I picked it up, the bottom fell apart and it was a huge mess. The bottom bun became too soggy to eat.

Chorizo Spaghetti – Homemade spaghetti with beef chorizo was delicious. It also had roasted peppers, parsley, and parmesan. True comfort food.

Dessert

We got the carrot cake but none of us enjoyed it much. It was very heavy in texture and dry. We like our cheesecake more airy and cheesy.

Espana Lounge is great for having drinks and chilling out. I’d recommend the small plates and starters. Also an ambiance worth visiting!
