Asha’s, Dubai

Asha’s, the International chain of restaurants best known for its Indian contemporary cuisine, is back with their ‘Live Like a Maharaja’ due to its popularity and feedback from distinguished guests. The menu brings to the table food enjoyed by Indian royalty across dynasties and showcases 14 dishes that take inspiration from the royal kitchens of India, creating a spread fit for a king.

We tried some of the dishes and were treated like a king!

Drinks

We got some mocktails like the Berry blast. It had a lot of crushed ice on top but the bottom was berry goodness.

They have some unique combination of lassis. We ordered the Coconut and Strawberry one but it was way too sweet. It was a great combination though.

Starters

Aloo Khusnuma was stuffed potatoes with a lot of nuts and topped with mussalam gravy.

Kumbh Jhinge Lazeez was unique. Button mushrooms stuffed with minced prawns, garlic, and coriander was extremely flavorful.

Tangdi Kebab – Chicken drumsticks marinated in Lucknow spices is best eaten with fingers.

Main course

We got some Dal makhani and Naan-E-Burani. It was an excellent combination. The naan was topped with cheese and fresh garlic.

Rampuri Paya Biryani is ideal for sharing as it comes in a huge pot. It’s a masterpiece from the kingdom of Rampur. Baby lamb slow cooked overnight was very tender. Strangely, it comes without yogurt as the server says it would lose the flavor.

Dessert

We got the Shahi Tukda for dessert but it was a disappointment. It had way too much ghee on it and felt very heavy. The side pudding did not help.
