Mint Leaf of London has been on our list for a very long time! Our visit was even jinxed pre-blogging era. We would always end up somewhere else. After a lot of rescheduling and cancellations, we finally made it to Mint Leaf of London!
Interior
The interiors are absolutely classic. High ceilings and giant glass windows lighten up the place and you get a beautiful view of the city. The left part of the restaurant is a lounge. A huge bar in the center and the restaurant on the right.
Drinks
We ordered a Tropical mocktail punch and a Golden Lady for the drinks. The golden lady had Elderflower cordial and some Gold dust which you could actually see settling at the bottom of the glass.
We also got White and Night during our main course. It had grapes, lime juice, and non-alcoholic wine. We thought it was the best drink!
Starters
Probably one of our all time starters would be this Beetroot Tikki and Punjabi cholay topped with tamarind sauce. Highly recommended!
Tandoori Prawn makhni was wild African prawns with sun dried tomatoes and garlic marinade. Creative yet had the desi flavors to it.
Lime scented chicken tikka was unique as it was marinated in Curry leaf and lime leafs. The chicken was corn-fed organic chicken which is the best quality available! Loved the flavors of this dish.
The 2nd vegetarian started was Aloo chat in sweet yogurt. Instead of traditional Potatoes, they replaced it with baby potatoes.
Main course
Dum ka Murg was served in a unique way. It was cooked in a dough and served with curry on the side. The chicken was tender and delicious.
We got some outstanding dal and bread – Garlic naan and Chili naan was a perfect combination.
The prawn curry was another unique item. It was gravy of coconut milk and lemongrass with lime leaf. They served some saffron rice with it!
We ordered the Potli Biryani which had the finest chunks of lamb. The flavors were just right and it came in a bowl made out of dough. It’s one of their signature dishes.
Desserts
The Gulab Jamun cake is one of a kind. I’m pretty sure no one would even try and attempt to make this. The cheesecake had a layer of sliced gulab jamuns.
The kulfi came in a cute tiny tiffin. Caramel with black pepper was creative. The pistachio was good but our favorite was the mango kulfi. It had a side of a summer coulis.
Mint Leaf of London is one of the finest restaurants in Dubai which we truly enjoyed every dish. The impeccable service is a plus. The servers are very knowledgeable and attentive. Mint Leaf of London is a pricey restaurant. Given the ambiance, creativity, and taste, they have the right to charge! We had a great experience.
