We don’t think there’s any brunch out there that gives more value for money than the EAT. PLAY. LAUGH Friday brunch at Marriott Hotel Downtown, Abu Dhabi. The interiors are bright and spacious. It is also probably one of the longest buffets we saw with a lot of unique stuff! Pick a table in the center to be more accessible to every station.
There’s a live DJ that keep the ambiance high on tunes. We loved the music being played and keeping it energetic.
We got a non-alcoholic package which included Iced-Tea Sangria in a lot of flavors. For the alcoholic package, there’s a LOT to choose from. There are around 7 bars at the buffet!
The restaurant has 7 stations and a huge variety. We started from the Arabic section where a giant plate of Oozi is served. This dish comes out in mostly all the restaurant during Ramadan only. There were also Kibbeh and cheese rolls as starters.
The JW Steakhouse was serving a rack of lamb and roast beef. We did not try as we were busy with the live grill – lobster, fish, prawns and the sushi.
A huge station which a variety of salads to choose from. If you are a health freak then this is also a place for you!
The Indian station had a live chat counter and a lot of Indian dishes. They will whip up any chaat of your choice and serve it on your table. We did try a couple and they will tingle your tastebuds for sure.
We have been to a lot of brunches and the freak shake station was never seen before. Mini version of chocolate and citrus shakes are served here. The size was just perfect.
We have seen a lot of Burgers and Shawarmas being served at brunches but never Lobster Rolls. The velocity bar was serving chicken and beef burgers and the delicious rolls.
The dessert collection at the Brunch was very extensive! From cupcakes to macaroons and donuts to ice cream. I can’t put into words the amount of sweet they serve. They had Arabic sweets, Indian sweet, cakes, pastries and anything you can imagine!
Our favorite was the duo chocolate fountain and it stood out due to the cleanliness and how neatly the fruits and marshmallows were arranged. Usually, this section is very messy so kudos to the team for the maintenance!
So the PLAY part is at the end of the restaurant across a bar. A beer pong table, foosball, and a giant Jenga to entertain and play with your friends. Once again, never spotted this in Dubai.
EAT. PLAY. LAUGH. was our first brunch in Abu Dhabi and it definitely stands out! You can look forward to having a good time and enjoy as we surely did. The service is great and a lot of people will be available to assist you.
