800 Degrees is located right next to Vox Cinema at the Mall of the Emirates. The interiors are mostly black and white which gives a classic feel. The chessboard floor compliments the arena. Before catching the premiere of the movie ‘Split’ at Vox, we had dinner at 800 Degrees.
We got ourselves some peach and passion fruit ice tea which was a mistake. It was poured out of a Lipton can and we were expecting it fresh. Also, in my opinion, it’s not a good combination with Italian food that we ordered!
We ordered Burrata + Carpaccio di Manzo Salad which had creamy burrata cheese, arugula, tomato, and carpaccio slices. It was drizzled with Olive oil and side of a bread. We have had better Burrata at many other Italian restaurants.
As a starter, we got the Ricotta Cheese Bread, which came fresh out of the oven and tasted excellent. The stuffing included olives, sundried tomatoes, and rosemary.
We got a pizza with margarita base, some meat, and pepperoni on top. It was small in size and nothing special about it. It kind of lacked flavor and was dry.
We also got a Chicken penne pasta with pink sauce and added extra broccoli and mushrooms. The sauce was good but the veggies were all squished for some reason.
For the desserts, we got a tiramisu. The serving was decent in size and a little on the sweeter and softer side.
The service was good and the staff friendly. They don’t mind explaining the entire dish to you. Not sure if it was the choices we made or the food just lacks taste. Our experience was just average.
Ohh that looks yummy!
