Bazxar is the talk of the town and their Friday Brunch is even more popular, located in DIFC. We had a little hard time finding the restaurant as there are no signs around the plaza. The Friday brunch has 3 different packages to choose from.
Drinks
Since we are non-alcoholics, we took the Prohibitionist Package which comes with the Fresh juices and mocktails.
My second drink was a Virgin Mojito which came in a very unique glass! It was sweet and sour yet refreshing.
Starters
To begin with, four types of starters are served right at your table.
We got served Lentil Salad with onions and peanuts. It was a perfect way to start our feast.
Crispy Mac n Cheese was hands down the best Starter. The crispy balls are stuffed with absolute goodness.
Shrimp popcorn came with a dip. It was light and fluffy and we kept popping them frequently! The dip was very good.
There were two types of Bao – Chicken and Aubergine. We preferred the chicken one.
Entrees
After the four starters, 4 more dishes are presented to you as Entrees!
There were two types of Pizza – Pepperoni and Margarita. We got a Pepperoni Pizza which was outstanding. We skipped on the Margarita and I regret not trying it!!
The second dish was a huge bowl of Black pepper beef noodles. Flat thin noodles and a lot of garnish added a great flavour.
The last one was Chicken fried rice. I was way too busy stuffing the Pizza to even try this!
Main Course
After all the starters and entrees, if you have some space, one main course can be chosen out of 8 choices.
We went for Fish of the day which was Seabass laid on a bed of mashed potatoes and side of asparagus. It was delicious and we both loved it.
The other choice was Gnocchi with cherry tomato sauce. It wasn’t to our liking as the cherry tomato sauce was very sweet. So in case you don’t like sweet Gnocchi, don’t order this! There is plenty of other choices.
Dessert Platter
Our dessert platter consisted of mini milkshake, Tiramisu, and Brownie with ice cream. All three of them were bite size and an excellent way to end the meal.
The restaurant was packed with guests. There was a live DJ playing the best music and everyone seemed to be in the best mood! Beware: Do not order any drinks after 4:00 pm as it will be an additional charge. Overall, we had a great time at the brunch!
