I have been using this kettle for almost a month now so now I can tell you the pros and cons of it.  First things first, I always prefer washing my kitchen electronics before using them. You need to boil water two to three times to get rid of that manufacturing taste. It’s much faster and lighter than my previous stainless steel kettle. The outside is warm to touch, not hot, which is actually a good thing if you have kids. The only con that I noticed till now is that it is a bit too noisy as compared to my previous kettle.

The Elekta Double walled Kettle is a straightforward jug, in black and red plastic, with one neat trick: double wall insulation. It claims to keep water warm for 30 minutes after boiling and this can only be a good thing – why don’t more kettles have double-walls? This keeps the water warm for longer and it also means the kettle is safer, you’re less likely to burn yourself by touching the sides.

For the price, it’s a good kettle and the insulation is a nice bonus that will save you time and money. In black and red plastic, it looks very stylish and striking.

The control is a simple power switch that lights up red. And the lid opens manually, you grip it and tilt it back by hand.

The jug is fairly light and the handle is comfortable enough in the hand.  It doesn’t have any fancy features apart from keeping water warm, but that’s an excellent and practical feature that will save you time and money.
