I have been using the Dermalogica Special Cleansing Gel for over a month now. It has done wonders to my skin! When you first use it, you expect something spectacular because Dermalogica is such a prestigious brand. However, its simplicity is actually its beauty. I have a slightly oily T-Zone but ever since I have started using this product, my skin is more normal now and I feel this special cleansing gel has been key in normalizing my skin.
Dermalogica’s Special Cleansing Gel which is the second part of the double cleanse method ( the first part being the dermalogica PreCleanse which I reviewed in my previous post) is soap-free, as well as fragrance-free, and colorless. It is non-drying, and I find it exceptionally gentle. But I can smell a mild lavender scent and it lathers decently. Although it doesn’t create a particularly fluffy lather. Once you gently apply the cleanser to your face, it will start to foam a little bit.
You can either pour a little product into the hands, lather with a little water, and then apply to a dry face, or dampen the face first and cleanse normally. I prefer applying it on a wet face. A little goes a very long way when it comes to this product, so even a travel size (which is what I have) will last quite a while. This cleanser is very calming to the skin. I even use it around my sensitive eye area and I feel no irritation at all.
I use a pea sized amount and although this isn’t soapy, it lathers just enough to cleanse my face. I use it right after I have done my first cleanse with the dermalogica precleanse so if some makeup is left on my face, this product deeply cleanses off all the makeup and leftover dirt.
It leaves my skin feeling clean without stripping off the moisture. Usually, my skin tends to feel very stretched after washing my face but after using this cleansing gel, it doesn’t feel as dried out. The mint and lavender extracts are soothing on the skin. Like I said, it doesn’t feel like a wonder product at first but over time you realize that it delivers results when it comes to the overall health of your skin.
My Verdict:
I would definitely repurchase this in full-size as it would definitely be a wise investment since you don’t need more than a pea size quantity of product for each use. It’s a good, simple cleanser that delivers what it promises. I would highly recommend this to both men and women of all ages, especially those who have acne-prone or sensitive skin. There is no point in applying expensive creams, oils, or serums, if your skin isn’t clean enough to absorb them! The money you will spend on this one cleansing gel would still be less compared to what you will have to spend on ten different products to treat acne. So your money won’t go to waste if you buy this.
This sounds great, I’ll definitely have to try it ☺️ I’d love it if you could check out my blog, emilykburr.wordpress.com 💕
