The year 2016 weather has been very odd as the summer lasted very long! It’s November and finally, the weather is cooling down in Dubai. A good time for BBQ and Grill and it would be even better by the Poolside!
We headed to Grand Hyatt on Thursday for dinner which had a theme of BBQ by the Poolside that had a lot of stations and live grill! On one side there’s the view of Pool and on the other is the backdrop of the Grand Hyatt.
The Bread Station
The first station in line offered a variety of bread. We got ourselves some breadsticks, buns and pita bread.
The Salad Station
There were two stations for salads. The first one offered some Arabic mezze like Hummus and Mutabbal. They also had Quinoa & salmon salad, greek salad, and grilled veggies.
The other station had a chef preparing Fresh Ceasers Salad. I got myself a bowl with some crispy bacon and roasted chicken. It was delicious!
Grill Station
Lots of choices from the grill. Lamb cuts, Ribeye steak, Jumbo prawns, Chops, Salmon and Fish can be ordered directly to the table. A friendly server took our order and got it on the table in a few minutes. The service was impeccable.
They also had meat sausage which I immensely enjoyed and got it twice. Another type of grill was the mixed platter of Iranian kebabs, lamb tikkas and chicken.
Juicy roasted chicken and legs were also available. The different variety of grill was just excellent in taste. We got ourselves everything!
The Sides
Corn, jacket potatoes, grilled vegetables, capsicums and a lot more to choose from. All of them would go best with the barbecue.
The Sauces
There were jars and jars of sauces and different chutneys. We got barbecue sauce and Spicy steak gravy and couldn’t manage to try all of them.
The Desserts
There was only 1 station for dessert and I was disappointed to see Fruits! On the other hand, Dubaigirl was delighted to see fresh cut fruits.
The saving grace for desserts and highlight of the evening was the Apple pie which was freshly baked. The hint of cinnamon and caramelized apples was absolutely delectable.
The chef cut up 2 pieces and poured caramel sauce and vanilla sauce over it with a side of Vanilla ice cream. I should have gone easy on the grill and left some more space for the apple pie.
After all that meat and dessert, we had to have some Tea. While I got myself Black tea, dubaigirl got herself green tea. We sat and spend some time sipping it by the pool while the DJ played some cool music.
We had a great time at the Barbeque by the Poolside. The service was excellent at the restaurant as all the staff is very attentive and would bring you whatever needed. There are sheesha and bar as well. A good place to chill with a view!
The package for Thursday BBQ by the Poolside is AED 189 for non-alcoholic package and AED 289 for the Alcoholic package with house beverages and wine. Don’t forget to check out Ladies night on Wednesday as well!
