I couldn’t contain my excitement when I got a chance to experience the MX4D at Reel Cinemas by Emaar. The whole experience in itself is nothing like ordinary. When we reached the Reel Cinemas, we were escorted to the Platinum lounge via escalators.
The platinum lounge is located on 4th Floor and exclusive entry only for the ticket holders. Everything about The Platinum Lounge was so royal- from the leather sofas to the red & beige carpet to the warm interiors.
While we were deciding what to order from the extensive menu, we were served the Morrocan Tea in colored glasses along with the silver tea set, making us feel like royalty. It was very refreshing.
The Platinum lounge was extremely comfortable and luxurious! We did not want to leave from this place anytime soon! The lighting and ambiance make it a five-star facility.
After some time, a friendly server took our orders for drinks. I ordered Passion Fruit Ice Tea and Mr. A opted for Mango and Basil juice. Both the drinks were exceptionally good.
As our movie was about to start, we decided to take away our dinner order to the cinema. We ordered the Gourmet Nachos, Fried Seafood Platter, and Mini Hotdogs. For desserts, we ordered Brownie with vanilla ice cream and a chocolate mud cake which was also served with vanilla ice cream and caramel sauce.
Although we have been to Reel Cinemas a lot of times before, the MX4D experience was far too superior and we enjoyed every bit.
What is MX4D?
Reel MX4D Motion EFX Theatre is the newest evolution in the 4D cinema experience. In a totally immersive environment where you actually “feel” the action on the screen from the built-in motion and effects in seats around you. Your MX4D theater seat will move in sync with the movie action and special EFX generators in the cinema, allowing you to “feel” the movie’s motion, jolts, pokes, wind, water, and even scents.

Our movie of the night was ‘Jack Reacher – Never Go Back’. The first thing to love about the movie is Tom Cruise! The experience in MX4D made the movie even better. The first punch thrown by Tom Cruise felt like a hammer, the wind and effect on our face were realistic. We knew we were in for a serious ride and held on tight to our drinks!
The bullets fire around and you get flashed by the gun nozzle which makes you feel like you are in middle of a gun fight. The bullets pass right by your ear! The seat would start poking you as the fistfights begin. The best parts are the car chase scenes where our seats would sync with the car acceleration and brake putting us in the middle of the action!
Verdict
Outstanding cinematic experience and so far the best we had! The tickets cost only AED 90/person and I can’t wait to watch a fantastic Horror movie or the Fast and Furious series! Any movie with a lot of action would be worth watching in MX4D and the Platinum lounge would just be a bonus! Don’t forget to grab some snacks…they were much better than the regular servings.
