Baré Ambrosia Serum for Dry/Sensitive Skin

By now, we all know the basic skin care rules: don’t go to sleep with your makeup on. Always moisturize. Use SPF like your life depends on it. Drink plenty of water. But there’s a new beauty mantra you might not be as familiar with- the use of serums. Adding serum to my daily skincare routine has made the biggest difference to the way my face looks and feels.

Before I talk about Baré Serum which I have been using for about a month now, let me first explain to you what a serum basically is.

Serum is a skincare product you can apply to your skin after cleansing but before moisturizing with the intent of delivering powerful ingredients directly into the skin. Those few concentrated drops are super-efficient. Serums are made of very small molecules, so the skin absorbs them quickly and deeply. The thicker, heavier ingredients in creams form a barrier on your skin. That’s great for locking moisture in. But it can also lock active ingredients out. Without these hindrances, the active ingredients in a serum penetrate your skin faster and more effectively.

Product Claims

“The Baré range of natural bespoke skin care uses scientifically proven botanical extracts to create visibly beautiful, luminous skin. Their serums contain precious Kakadu Plum, with the highest content of natural vitamin C antioxidant on the planet. Their ingredients are mild and safe even for the delicate skin of children, and their skincare is animal cruelty-free.”

Essential Ingredients

Kakadu Plum Extract, Argan Oil, Oat Bran Extract, Oat Bran Kernel Flour, Pichia/Resveratrol Ferment Extract, Tasman Pepper Fruit Extract

Benefits

This thirst quenching serum restored moisture to my skin, preventing drying and increasing the skin’s capacity to retain moisture; providing elasticity and suppleness to the skin, while minimising fine lines and the signs of aging with powerful antioxidants.

The Bare Serum protects your skin with soothing botanical extracts, and boosts cell structure with resveratrol and hyaluronic acid for smooth, glowing skin.

Application

After cleansing my face, I apply a pea-sized amount of Baré serum, massaging gently from the lower part of my face using light circular movements, gently working upwards over cheeks and nose. Then I massage my forehead and work down to my neck.

My Verdict

After using this serum once a day regularly for a month I did notice that my skin feels and looks visibly hydrated, tightened and glowy. There have been no acne breakouts ever since I’ve been using this product. So I would definitely make it a part of my daily skincare rituals.

Cons

The only negative thing about Bare serums is that because of the active ingredients these serums priced at AED 399 are expensive. But if you invest in a good serum like this one, you’ll actually have something that works. So you won’t have to spend money on multiple products that are just ok, or that you think might be working; a great serum is actually going to give you visible results.

It all comes down to what you’d rather spend money on: five cheaper products that take up space on your shelf and do nothing for your skin, or one product that does amazing things and costs a little more. Trust me: once you find your perfect serum, you’ll never waste your money on any other beauty product again.
