Tortilla – a tex mex (American Mexican cuisine) restaurant located in Dubai Festival City. Although its in a food court, the restaurant has its own dine in and funky interior! It has self service so you can customize everything at the counter.
We started with some Nachos and a side of meat. It was topped with cheese sauce, jalapeno, salsa and lots of guacamole! As usual we could munch on it all day.
Dubaigirl got her some Santa Fe Tacos which had grilled shrimps as protien. You have an option of choosing the soft tacos or the crispy one. We took a mix!
For the drinks: Tortilla serves Lime Margrita which I ordered. It had a lot of Ice so Dubaigirl opted for a Coke! Besides that they also have Fresh juices from Barakat.
Taco Salad was very interesting. The bowl was edible and had a lot of steak meat in the salad. The quantity was huge.
The chicken quasedellas were excellent. I would highly recommend Chicken and eat them while they are HOT! The tortillas are toasted and comes with a side of Sour cream and salsa.
The burritos are again huge especially if you choose the Large one! You can choose your ingredients on the spot. I would recommend chicken as the beef might be a little chewy.
On to my favorite – Fajita Rice Bowl. Its filled with Cilantro rice, beans, roasted peppers, cheese, salsa and sour cream. You can choose your meat and toppings. The taste and style reminded me of Chipotle which we use to have a lot in New York.
Sadly, Tortilla is not serving any dessert. I would love them to have some Churros to enjoy the full tex mex experience.
As far as the food goes, it is completely fresh and made everyday. They do not use frozen products. The staff is very helpful and would give you recommendations.
Tortilla is recommended and a must try if you are vising Dubai Festival City !!!!
