The Daily, Rove Downtown Hotel

The latest weekend brunch in town and it’s at The Daily, Rove Downtown Hotel in the heart of Dubai. Also known as the ‘Bench Brunch’. We checked it out on a Saturday and the place was buzzing!

The interior is spacious and high ceiling with glass windows brought in the natural light. Wooden palettes placed in the middle of the hall where you can grab the unlimited breakfast, starters, and desserts.

In addition to the buffet there’s a menu for the Main course. The menu is short and sweet. We could choose one Main dish from the kitchen section, so I chose Pasta while Mr. A went for a rather healthier option – chicken caesar salad.

We also had one choice of serving from the Barista. We both got frappes instead of the Hot coffee or the tea. The frappes were better than expected!

The Penne Al Forno was nicely done. I just had to mention that I like mine with loads of sauce and cheese and viola! They made it exactly how I like it whereas Mr. A’s salad was dry and not up to the mark.

Among the fresh fruit juices, we tried the orange and watermelon juice. They were real fruit juices and not the concentrated ones, which was such a relief. Our server also got us complimentary passion fruit ice tea which tasted heavenly!

The buffet “From the Bench” had a good selection of cold cuts, sandwiches, salads, fruit salads, cereals, yoghurt, and desserts.

There was a wide selection of cheese, along with a variety of loaves of bread and crackers. They had a vast variety of mortadella in beef, chicken, smoked chicken, turkey and smoked turkey.

The sandwiches spread was quite interesting. They had everything from vegetarian sandwiches to beef, chicken, egg, and tuna.  I tried the chicken and beef sandwiches which were delectable and very filling indeed.

The even had Chinese Noodles boxes which contained glass noodles tangy salad inside. I simply loved it. The salad Maison Jars not only looked adorable, but they tasted divine as well. I relished upon the figs and duck salad whereas Mr A enjoyed his Rocca salad.

There was a choice of detox waters as well but we skipped it since there was a whole load of drinks to try from.

Mr A’s brunch is incomplete without his cereal so he took a bowlful of cereal combined with some dry fruit and he was good to go.

As I mentioned earlier…Way too many fruit juices, to try them all I would need another stomach! We did enjoy the carrot and the Orange.

The desserts were a disappointment since they all tasted the same. The whoopie pie, the cakes, and muffins all had the same base and no flavor. Something the restaurant really needs to improve upon! The cookies were the best amongst them.

There’s a place dedicated for kids to play as well in case you want to dine in peace. You can get a Burj Khalifa view as well if seated correctly. Pretty sure it will be more popular in winters since it has an outdoor seating as well.

Go there for the ambiance, the service and total value for money at AED 99!
