YaSalam! A cozy and a comfortable restaurant in JLT that serves Shawarmas and Doners with some healthy options. We actually went to try their new Lunch specials which seemed unique but please note, they serve it on Weekdays ONLY! So we end up trying the regular menu..
They did not have any Fresh juices at the time so we started off with the Crunchy Salad. It had pieces of Falafel on it. The dressing was Zatar and Tahini sauce. It was a juicy one and huge in portion!
We got a lot of Shawarmas – Halloumi, Beef, Chicken Breast, Superfood, and the Mix.
The Halloumi and Chicken were good. Superfood and the Mix were exceptional and huge in size. The Superfood had Quinoa in it! The beef had a strong meat flavor, i prefer mine more marinated. They offer flat bread, Saj and Brown bread.
The other option is to build you own shawarma. You can completely customize it from the bread to the sauces and all the ingredients.
We ordered a plate of Doner Kabab, which came with a side of Hummus and Salad. Hummus was fine and so was the Doner. The soft doner kabab had a buttery feel to it which I enjoyed.
For the sides, we ordered the YaSalam Spicy Fries which were unique and excellent in taste. It was sliced very thin and didn’t seem fried. Highly recommend them!
The onion ring was the opposite of the fries. It was way too oily and too soggy.
The desserts were not made in house but they both were outstanding. DubaiGirl got herself Red Velvet and I got the Chocolate Fudge.
YaSalam! is a good place for a quick bite. You can either take away or dine in the cozy place. You can even try the delivery since their packaging is really good. Do try the Special fries and the Doners.
