Shiseido Compact

Shiseido Pureness Mattifying Compact oil-free Foundation:

Shiseido has been one of my favourite make up brands. So when I got a chance to work with Bashara Care & they asked me to choose products from their website,  I was very excited to see Shiseido Pureness mattifying Compact oil-free foundation there. Being a big make-up junkie, I know Shiseido is a highly trust worthy Japanese brand.

I have oily, acne prone skin & this is one of the best compact foundations for oily skin that I’ve tried to date. I have 30 Natural Ivory which is the perfect match for my skin. It is mattifying, anti bacterial and most importantly it does not clog the pores.

Packaging:

It comes in a soothing green compact with a mirror and a puff inside. It comes in very handy and easy to carry in a travel kit.

Texture:

It’s a finely milled powder with a silky smooth texture, and it applies so smoothly.

Coverage:

It gives medium coverage . I don’t really like a lot of coverage, but this gives a very natural coverage, without looking too caked up. For those who intend to use this alone, please note that this will NOT provide full coverage. The coverage is rather sheer and this can’t really be used on its own as a foundation for occasions etc. especially if you prefer the pore-less and perfected look. But I have often used just this powder on my face during the day to control the shine and the look it gives is decent enough.

Application:

I usually apply this as a mattifying setting powder after I prime my face, apply my liquid foundation, bronzer, highlighter and concealer. Although it comes with a puff but I like to dust it all over my face with a foundation brush and spread it evenly. But when I’m outside, I use the puff for touch up.

I carry it with me to blot throughout the day and have even worn it as a stand-alone foundation powder.

Staying Power:

It has a matte finish and really good oil control. It really does stay put the whole day – I can go up to 8 hours without touching up. I also don’t notice any fragrance, which is always a plus for my sensitive skin.

Verdict:

Although it is expensive but it’s a total ‘value for your money’ product.  I would recommend this to anyone who has oily or acne-prone skin, or anyone who just wants a natural-looking matte finish. Perfect for summers.
