Bice Mare, Souk Al Bahar

Bice Mare is regarded as one of the best and most authentic Italian restaurant in Dubai. WINNER of What’s On Magazine’s Award in Best Seafood Restaurant category 3 years in a row, BICE Mare offers a contemporary fine dining experience.

After finishing my Masterclass and graduating in making pasta, it was time for me to graduate in eating pasta!

Interiors

Bice Mare has a real classy feel to it. The restaurant is draped in white with Blue chairs standing out. The walls have classic portraits of Italian monuments. The view from the restaurant is fantastic – Burj Khalifa and the Fountain is sitting right across the table.

Starters

We started off with Burrata – Rocket and Black truffle. The cherry tomatoes were ripe and perfect. This sure is one of the best Burrata I’ve ever had in Dubai.

Next up was Buffalo Mozzarella with ripe wine tomatoes. Really can’t describe these dishes as they need to be eaten to experience the rich flavor. For the cheese lover that I’m, this was simply heaven.

The Lentil Salad was flavorful. It had a lot of ingredients and much of the time went in figuring out. I think it was lentil, cabbage and cheese.

Fried Octopus, Calamari and Squid were all exceptionally good.

Parmigiana dim elanzane – Baked eggplants with layers of Mozarella in tomato and basil sauce. It was outstanding.

Main Course

We were served three variety of Pastas.

1. Ravioli – Stuffed with Veal and topped with truffle. So far it is the best Ravioli I’ve tasted in the Emirates. The rich buttery taste was so addictive. This was the one dish that finished within minutes and the chef instantly prepared more.

2. Fettuccine – Cooked in a roman style in Parmesan cheese and Truffle. I am sure this dish was pretty rich in calories. It even had butter residue showing up after a while. But it was delectable.

3. Penne Liguori – Penne with cherry tomato, tomato sauce and chilly. Since it is authentic Italian restaurant the Penne pasta was El dante which is not as soft as the commercial one. I loved it anyway but Mr. A likes his pasta to be very soft. The freshly prepared sauce stole the show. All the herbs and the ingredients came along so well.

Dessert

We were served a beautiful platter of some amazing desserts.

All these desserts have an Italian names but according to my lingo the Cheese cake lollipop was a bomb. The Chocolaty Scones were good too.

I also enjoyed the nut shaped dessert which was like a sponge soaked in Sugar water with Custard and berry!

After the dinner and a short speech by the Chef, we were handed out our certificates and I had to click it with the Burj!

A restaurant which I would give Five stars for checking all the boxes! Food, Service, Ambiance and the View. It is fine dining so do check the menu as it can be a bit pricey! Bice mare will surely give you a pleasurable dining experience at every visit.
