Mantoushe means to take a ‘Bite out’ in Arabic. A Healthy Sandwich joint located in JLT Dubai in Cluster P. Mantoushe makes everything in house, from the bread to the sauces including ketchup. They have a variety of sauces. It’s a cozy place to dine in with some very interesting interiors. The tables are round high tables with high chairs, not too comfortable for my liking but since it is more of a ‘quick meal’ joint hence I wouldn’t cut any points for this.
You can customize your own sandwiches and build your own juices. Their bread is made from scratch everyday and includes whites and Multi-grain bread.
For the Salad we ordered Quniowawa – Quinoa & Greens base with Feta, Pistachio, Cranberry, Pumpkin seeds & Glazed Balsamic. The bowl was huge and all the ingredients were fresh and tasted so delectable with the perfect balance of sauces and the crunchy nuts in each bite. This is THE Salad for you if you’re on a diet and it’s so filling.
Mantoushe does serve Sweet Pepper Fries made with sweet potato but we opted for the Classic french fries instead because we weren’t feeling so exotic to try sweet potato fries. They were not bad but I prefer thick cut fries which they didn’t have. I personally wouldn’t recommend these because I’ve had better fries.
The Taster Trio was a looker. Served on a wooden block it had 3 Sandwiches – Mini Steakmous (beef steak) , Mini South-baked Crisp (chicken) , Mini Fetazee which we replaced with Falafel. All three of them were equally tasty hence I would not pick a winner!
Lahme Bajeen was my absolute favorite, which was from their breakfast menu but you can order the sandwiches from the breakfast menu throughout the day. The mince meat inside the lahme bajeen was actually from steak meat so it tasted way better than other places. It was nice and juicy and the bread was also not too hard which was a good thing.
In addition we ordered two mini wraps:
Mr. Draper – Steak, Mozzarella & Cheddar, Spicy Potato, Lettuce, Pomegranate, Salsa Verde, Peanuts, Dijon Mustard, Honey & Roasted Garlic sauce
Turkey Me – Turkey, Mozzarella & Cheddar, Lettuce, Tomato, Dijon Mustard & Mayo
We toasted the bread for these wraps and it tasted even better than the Trio because of the toasted bread. The Turkey Me was very tasty and mouth watering. However the Dijon Mustard in Mr. Draper was very empowering. I wish I would have asked them to put very little mustard. Otherwise it was very delicious.
Not a big fan of desserts in a wrap so we skipped it and instead got a take away for Lahme Bajeen (Yes it was that good). The staff of the restaurant is very professional and friendly. They do explain everything in details, so don’t hesitate to ask questions.
I would always prefer Mantoushe or any home grown sandwich shop over a corporate like a Subway or Charley’s due to its local flavors and in support of Small businesses. So if you want to try out Natural real food, do visit or order Mantoushe!
