LaTen, located in Dubai Mall. We entered Dubai Mall and started seeing a lot of ads on electronic billboards for LaTen including the giant screen in front of Ice Rink. We made our way to the Grand Atrium on Level 2 where the restaurant is located.

Walked in to see a lavish interior but the weather called for a seating on the outdoors which overlooked the Souk Al Bahar, Burj Khalifa and partial view of the fountains. The outdoor was buzzing with people enjoying their food.

We ordered our drinks. Spiced Mangosteen Margarita and a in-house chef special. The Mangosteen drink was way too spicy and a disappointment but the Chef special was outstanding.

Our starters were Poached Prawn Wanton with Szechuan Chilli oil. It had a very tingly taste to it.

The Pan Seared Chicken dumplings were served with black vinegar sauce. The dumplings were soft and had lil crunch to it. The combination with the sauce outstanding and I would put it on recommend list!

Among Salad we ordered the Glass noodle Salad which had Romaine lettuce, dried shrimps, whole peanuts and cherry tomatoes in a lime dressing. It wasn’t for my taste but Taqato.dubaigirl loved it.

Thai Tom Yum Soup which is a spicy and tangy served with straw mushroom, prawn and squid. Unlike a lot of restaurants in Dubai the taste of this soup was VERY AUTHENTIC and close to what we had in Thailand.

Flavorful and Spicy Malaysian fried noodles with prawn with tomatoes and bean sprouts. Another authentic dish from LeTen.

The black pepper beef was one of the best. Stir fried with Black pepper, sauted garlic, onion cubes & Chilli. It was cooked to perfection. Meat was fresh and tender.

Schezwar Kungpo Prawns was very unique and tasty! It had crunchy cashew nuts. Fried in dried chilli, ginger and spring onion.

Devil Fried rice was served with beef, chilli, pepper, spring onion in Black Pepper sauce. I combined it with the Black pepper beef and it was delicious.

After the huge serving there was still room left for dessert. We ordered the Chocolate Mikado and it was extremely good. Not too sweet or heavy. Best balance of cream and chocolate.

The other dessert was a Lemon cheese cake. I usually stick to my favorite Raspberry cheesecake but Lemon was equally good. A Little tangy but it all comes together.

LaTen – A Modern Asian cuisine actually serves authentic dishes from Asia unlike P.F. Changs which has a very American take to its food or Chin Chin which has an Indian take. The Chinese dumpling, Thai Soup, Malay Noodles and all other dishes had two things in common – Authentic & Delicious. I would also like to thank the Manager, Mr. Rodhem for giving a great service.
